Instructions for installing MIUI on Lenovo P780.

1. Go to: Settings – About phone – Version information. There we look at the line where the phone version Sxxx is written. If you have a version other than S129 (Chinese firmware), then proceed to step 2, if you already have this version, then skip the step of installing the stock firmware.

2. To install stock firmware you will need:

Computer program SP Flash Tools: Download
Driver for working with your phone: Download
Firmware file: Download

After downloading all the files, install the drivers, create a folder (preferably with the smallest path possible, for example C:\lenovo\) and drop two folders from the archives into it - target bin from the file with the firmware and the folder with the SP Flash Tools program. Next, go to the folder with the program and run Flash_Tool.exe.
In the program window, perform the following steps one by one:

Press the Scatter-loading key, there select the file MT6589_Android_scatter_emmc in the target bin folder
Click the checkbox DA DL All With Check Sum
Press the Firmware Upgrade button

After the stripes stop moving, take the phone, turn it off, remove the battery compartment cover, and press the Reset button. After that, we connect the phone to the computer using USB. 3. Take a microSD card and transfer the following files to it:

Recovery (personally, CWM is more convenient for me, but you can look for another one on the Internet): Download
MIUI image:

First, install the root installer, be sure to install it on the device itself, and not on the SD card. In the application, select Install SU and click Boromir, a window with a message about successful root should appear, if you just exited the application, go back in and select SU. After this, restart your phone.

Next, install Mobileuncle, when you first start it, press the Grand key. Next, select the Update recovery menu in it, select the recovery image from the SD card in it, confirm, and reboot into CWM itself.

4. In recovery, perform factory reset, wipe cashe, in advanced wipe dalvik cashe. Then in the mounts menu, select the mount sd card item, mount it and exit back to the main menu. Here select Update .zip, then Update from sd card, then select the file itself with the MIUI image. Wait about a minute, and after successful installation, reboot your phone using reboot now.

Firmware process:

1. Disconnect the smartphone from the computer, if connected.
2. Make sure that the files with the firmware and the Flash Tool program are unpacked from the archive. The program can be downloaded separately.
3. We look for a file in the folder with the name Flash_tool.exe, run this program with administrator rights.
4. In the launched program, click, and select the file called MT6589_Android_scatter_emmc.txt . It is located in the folder “target_bin” .

5. After this, a list of what will be flashed will appear in the program window. Make sure there is a check mark next to each item. If there is no checkmark somewhere, check it manually, and in the pop-up window select the file in the folder with the firmware. The name of the selected file must match the name of the item opposite which you checked.

6. NECESSARILY put a tick next to the item DA DL All With Check Sum, otherwise your Lenovo P780 will stop working.

7. Only after you have completed all the previous 6 steps, press the button “Firmware -> Upgrade” in the program window. The smartphone can be connected to the computer using a cable. If you did everything correctly, the firmware process will begin, as indicated by a moving line at the bottom of the program window. Do not under any circumstances interrupt the firmware process or disconnect your smartphone from the computer.

8. The successful completion of the firmware will be indicated by a pop-up window with a green circle in the middle. Only now the device can be disconnected from the computer.
